From the cosmopolitan imperial karkhanas of Agra under Akbar and Jahangir, miniature techniques travelled southwest to Rajasthan's Mewar court (Udaipur), and subsequently migrated north into the secluded Himalayan valleys of Kangra, flowering into lyrical Pahari naturalism.
